Great Heath Club on Thursday 26th February 2009

Martyn Apsley Jon Cooney Bob Stretton Ben Rodgers Billy Gibbins	23-98 45-70 34-98 45-31 54-37	Steve Dick Bob Clark Sheamus Kinsella Johnny Long Keith Clark	Wyken got off to a good start with Bob Clark and Steve Dick recording comfortable wins, Steve making a steady 48 break. This put Wyken 20 points ahead. In the next two frames, Sheamus Kinsella potted steadily against Bob Stretton who struggled giving away 30 in foul shots, 22 of which were from a difficult snooker behind the green, with numerous reds left. Ben Rodgers and Johnny Long had a scrappy game, neither player making a break in double figures, Ben finishing the frame winner. In the final frame Billy Gibbins started the frame 70 points behind, but got off to a flying start. With breaks including 16,12 and 13 took a 41 point lead, reducing the deficit to 29 points. Unfortunately this was as close as he got. Keith Clark started to pot small breaks, that were enough to put the match out of Jaguar's reach.

Phil saw a 38 point lead pulled back by Richard with some rock-steady potting, to finish within 1 point. In frame 3 Mick, 60 points in front, was looking good to win by 78, but Chris potted the last three to reduce the deficit to 40. Nigel and Martin both started well, but Martin slowly overhauled Nigel with some good snookers that Nigel failed to get out of. Martin took most of the colours to win by 42 points. Kenilworth D took an 18 point lead into the Final frame. Bill lead this frame most of the way with the last three colours left on, Bill lead by 6 points. Bill potted the Blue and Pink, but missed an opportunity on the black to win the match. Cliff eventually potted the black to win the match for a deserved win for Kenilworth D.

The Frank Revill Final will be played at the Daimler Sports & SOcial Club

on Wednesday 22nd April 2009 and will commence at 7.15 pm.
